Winter Doll by aphid777 Winter Doll by aphid777
Hey guys!

I'm not usually a huge fan of dolls (bad experience with Chuckie in my childhood), but I really loved the theme and design of this doll.  I'm planning on giving it to my senior mentor's daughter as a gift this holiday.

The original crocheted doll:
LALALOOPSY Winter Snowflake Crochet Amigurumi Doll by Npantz22

was created by :iconnpantz22: and the pattern is available on her Etsy website: www.etsy.com/people/epickawaii….  I took some liberties with some of the details.  I left out the snowballs and top hat on her head as well as the button eyes (because button eyes creep me out).  I also changed her hair style a bit because I prefer sewing over using hot glue, but at the same time, I didn't feel up to sewing on the intricate design shown in the picture.  I also didn't have a yarn needle that could fit the thick yarn, so I used a crochet hook to sew the hair onto her head, which probably made it take way longer than it should have -__-  The earmuffs I made are also slightly different because I don't know how to make pompoms and I was too lazy to look it up so I used a loopy method instead.  Overall though, I followed the pattern pretty closely and I'm very happy with the result!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE HOLIDAYS TO BEGIN!! :la:

Oh, I've seen that pattern and various products made with it floating around tumblr! It's good to see your own alterations and adjustments, because she turned out beautifully! :D

I love her hair! ^_^

(Pompoms are a pain in the BUTT. Just saying. I don't think I've ever made one successfully. ^^; )

Not a fan of dolls, either, but for some reason, I'm warming to them lately, between BJDs and some of the gorgeous doll crochet patterns like this one. (Baby dolls/Chuckie type things/wailing infant dolls are the ones that traumatize me the most, and some of the Victorian dolls with infantile faces but adult clothing freak me out, too. ;-; )

Thanks!!  I really didn't know what I was doing with the hair so I'm glad it turned out alright ^^;

BJD dolls to me are still a mix of creepy and gorgeous haha  I'm always in awe at the amazing paint job and photography.. and the eyes!  I still don't think I'd want one sitting on a shelf in my room though.. (I have problems..)

Aaaaaw, she is soo cuute! Haha, I'm also not a fan of dolls, but this one, specially, attracted my attention! If someday I need to give a girl some gift, I'm sure I will crochet this doll ^_^
