Derpy Pooh Bear by aphid777 Derpy Pooh Bear by aphid777
So this Pooh bear is based off of this picture: old.wallcoo.net/cartoon/disney… that my roommate sent to me :D She really loves Winnie the Pooh so I decided to make him in order to write out a pattern for her, though I might just let her keep this little guy. ANYWAY, ENOUGH RAMBLING. Here is the pattern.

**Again, PLEASEEEEEEEEE credit me for the pattern should you use or modify it since I spent a lot of time figuring out and typing it up and please don't sell the character or pattern as I do not own the character. Also, let me know if I've made any errors. Blah blah okay :P

this is a pretty good pattern, but even looking at the ones people made, it's clear the they didn't the head right. I think part of this might be that 1) you don't state whether to join rounds or not and 2) there's a possibility of losing track of rows. I personally think it would be easier to follow if you actually numbered your rows, ESPECIALLY the ones that say "sc around 5 times" for ex. it would be much easier if you did:
"R1: magic circle
R2: inc around
R3-6: sc around"

It also would be nice to have pictures from other angles to work with instead of just the front

Sorry, this was one of the first few patterns I wrote so it definitely had room for improvement.  However, I've been too busy to go back and number all the steps.  I also ended up giving this away already, so at the time I didn't think of taking more pictures.  My later patterns are a little better organized with more views of the finished work.  I will probably go back and improve this pattern someday.

I'm not too sure what you mean.. The body will have an opening that is 24 stitches around and you will sew the opening directly to the back of the head.

I love this pattern! My best friend and I love Winnie the Pooh and when we met we found out we had the same exact Pooh blanket we still use from when we were little! I'm making matching ones for us for Christmas. I did have one question though, what did you do for the eyes? I've seen others with saftey eyes and they just looked creepy.

This is likely going to sound like a silly question:
Here's my interpitation...
1. Magic loop so you have 6 stitches
2. Increase so you have a total of 12 stitches
3. (SC, Increase) for a total of 18 stitches

Step three is where I get confused - if I SC, Increase and repeat throughout the 12 stiches - won't that double my stitches to 24?

What am I missing here?

:iconlily-jones:
Lily-Jones Featured By Owner Dec 24, 2014
what it means is that in one stitch you do a SC and in the next stitch you would increase. So you are not doubling again because you are not doing an increase in every stitch

For step 3, you should be alternating a sc and inc 6 times total (to get through the 12 stitches from the previous round) which should give you 18 stitches.

I'm totally in love with these little ones. I'm making the winnie for a dear friend. She loves Winnie. I'm planning on making Eevee and Pikachu for myself <3
One question: how did you manage to make the eyes, nose and eyebrows?
Looks like that with the pokemon it's pieces of felt right? Is that also where the eyes, nose and eyebrows of Winnie the pooh are made of?
Thanks for the pattern, clear pictures and help.

Thanks a lot!  The eyes and details are needle felted.  It's different from the cut out pieces of felt.  I use a special needle felting needle and roving wool.  There are a lot of YouTube tutorials on needle felting if you're not too familiar with it :)

I don't remember the name of the color, but the brand was Red Heart Supersaver.  They have a pretty limited range of colors so it's recognizable if you see it!  Sorry about that!

Ran out of the mustard yarn doing the arms so I switched to red to finish and didn't make the sleeves. Just finished the granny mandala and sewed the two together. Was a very quick project your instructions are great and it worked up quickly.

I am going to post a pic of it on my deviant art as it won't let me post here for some reason.

Hi, I just showed my mom this and she wants to make it. However, as we are Dutch, we don't quite understand the abbreviations. In the post below, you already explained a few of them, but we're still wondering what you mean with inc around(12). Does that mean "Go around and increase every loop"? TIA ^_^

I'm fairly new at crocheting(sp?) and haven't followed many patterns yet. What do all the short hand mean? I guess INC means increase and DEC means decrease, but not sure about the rest. When you say "around X times" does that mean do the whole circle that many times? I'm sorry if these questions seam silly/obvious. and what is a size F hook? My hooks are labeled by "mm" not letters
Very excited to try this pattern once I can follow it as I'm expecting my second child and would love to make one for her

No problem!  Yes, you're correct on the abbreviations and when I say "around x times", it does mean go around the full circle x times stated, and F size hook is the same as 3.75mm.  Hope that helps!  And best wishes to you and your second child! :)

My daughter's best friend and matron of honor is expecting her first baby in Nov. She has decided to go with Pooh, I have been searching high and low for a good pattern and like yours the best. Not sure if I will doing the whole thing, using the head to put on a blanket to make luvy, or both yet. going to finish the 12' Dr. Who scarf I started on for a friend first.

So love all your pokeman animals too. Will probably be working on some of those for my grown up kids and the grandkids for Christmas soon as well. At some point will have to try your dragon for me. I so love chinese dragons and yours is the best one I've seen. Love your work.

The mustard yarn I used for the Dr. Who Scarf so reminds me of Pooh's color, I have a little left and will see how far it goes. See if I get a full Pooh or just head and arms before buying more yarn. Just finished the scarf last night. Going to try to get a good pic of it today and post it on my Deviant art as well as my fb.
