Crocheted Elmo by aphid777 Crocheted Elmo by aphid777
I finally finished him. After promising to make him for my aunt a year ago >_> I'm thankful for the few days off that I got for Thanksgiving hehe..

Anyway, he's much larger than I anticipated.. pretty much life-sized or close to life-sized (as I would imagine Elmo to be). I hate fuzzy yarn. That's all.

Oh my gosh, he's so cute!

Fuzzy yarn is pretty terrible/painful stuff, but the end result looks great, and I admit I love the feel of it AFTER I've fought with it. I mean, I can see his individual fingers, for instance. x3 So the hard work seems totally worth it to me! \o/ Your aunt will definitely love him!

Elmo looks awesome! I didn't even think it was crochet when I clicked him!

I curse fuzzy yarn when I'm working with it, then afterwards I'm all proud and showing it off thinking "you don't even know what kind of hell I went through to make this!" Lol!

As a thought...I have found..that if you run the fuzzy yarn with a regular yarn of the same color that it is much easier to work with.and it builds up faster.and...you can barely notice the difference between the finished work when compared :)

I detest fuzzy yarn. I can hardly knit with it. . . Crocheting with it would probably make my head explode.

I am in awe of your skills--your Elmo looks just like the real deal!!!

Thank you so much!! I actually think knitting is so much more challenging than crochet x_x I can't even imagine how you would be able to fix mistakes if you can't even see the stitches..

>.<; Oh man, I agree with you about the fuzzy yarn. I tried it once for the coal sprite that Studio Ghibli is famous for and learned how much I hate it.
Kudos for sticking with it and making Elmo. @w@

this is amazing. I love it!
It's so great that it's actually big and so fluffy.
Is fuzzy yarn so horrible that you wouldn't use it again? I've never used it because it seems so messy and hard to use. But the result is cute! :)

Thanks!! :) Give me a couple months and I'll think fuzzy yarn is a great idea again.. haha The tricky part about this yarn is that you can't really see your stitches so it's pretty much impossible to count. I ended up guesstimating numbers by relying on markers. Also, once you've made a stitch with the yarn, it can get impossible to pull it apart when you make a mistake because all the extra fuzz gets tangled together @_@ it can be a nightmare.. but yeah, I am happy with the result :)

haha it sounds quite difficult. Maybe I'll give it a go because it looks amazing :) But I'll start with something small ;)
Again, great work on this! :)
